Ratio 506 Water Crane & Fire Devil Plastic Kit

Stations often had these Water Cranes at the ends of each platform so that locomotives could replenish their tanks during a journey without having to be uncoupled. The cranes were usually supplied by a large water tank such as 506 , 551 or SS-34

This model is based on a Great Western prototype. Also included is a Fire Devil which consists of a coke brazier and a long chimney flue to direct the hot exhaust gases onto the main cast iron pipe. This device would be kept lit in freezing temperatures to maintain water supplied to the locomotives throughout the hard winter months.

Assemble with good quality plastic cement such as Humbrol AE2610 or Roket AD-62
